Installing Oracle Linux Release 6 Update 4 for x86_64 (64 Bit)

Prep Work:
  1. Install Oracle Virtual Box.
  2. Download Oracle Linux Release 6 Update 4 for x86_64 (64 Bit)
  3. Setup a Oracle VM pointing to Oracle Linux Release 6 Update 4 for x86_64 (64 Bit).iso
  4. Start the Created VM.
Installing Oracle Linux Release 5 Update 6 for x86_64 (64 Bit):
  1. Start the Vm that is linked to Oracle Linux Release 5 Update 6 for x86_64.iso. Then wait for the menu screen and hit the enter key.

  1. Hit the right arrow to "Skip" the hardware check.
  1. At this point you can checkout the release notes. Or you can click the "Start" button.

  1. Select the language that you want to continue the installation process and click "Next".

  1. Select the "Keyboard Language" you desire and click next.
  1. Click the Yes button to partion the VM drive.

  1. Click the "Next" button.
  1. Click the "Next" button and then click the "Yes" button.
  1. Click the "Next" button.
  1. Set the desired time zone and click the "Next" button.
  1. Select all the options and click the "Next" button.

  1. Click the "Next" button to install the Operating System.

  1. The Operating System should begin it's install.

  1. When prompted, reboot the system.

  1. One the System is restared you will see the License Agreement. Take a second look at it an when ready click on the "Forward" button.
  1. In the "Firewall" dropdown box select "Disabled" and click the "Forward" button.
  1. Click the "Yes" button.
  1. In the "SE Linux Setting" drop down box select "Disabled and click the "Forward Button".
  1. Click the "Yes" Button.
  1. Do not enable the Kdump. Just click the "Forward" Button.
  1. Select the Date and Time and click the "Forward" button.
  1. Create a user. The user that I like to make here is "oracle". This user will help us when we make the seed database. I make life easier I set the passwords to "oracle". Then click the "Next" button.
  1. Click the "Forward" button.
  1. Click the "Finish" button.
  1. When ready reboot the computer
